Aaron Rodgers was at UFC 303 in Las Vegas on Saturday night, marking the New York Jets quarterback’s first public appearance since bailing on the New York Jets mandatory minicamp for a still undisclosed “important” event.

While Aaron Rodgers has yet to pop up on The Pat McAfee Show or an obscure podcast to explain where he was instead of at practice with the rest of his teammates (except one, Haason Reddick, who is holding out for a new contract), he did appear at UFC 303 over the weekend and then shared a selfie from the event with his former teammate Mercedes Lewis.

“Me and Big Dog,” Rodgers captioned the post, which he shared with his over 2.3 million followers on Instagram.

It’s certainly surprising that the 40-year-old Lewis, who has been in the National Football League since 2006, isn’t on the New York Jets rost this season given that forcing the front office to give contracts to his either incompetent (Nathaniel Hackett) and/or washed-up buddies (Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard, etc.) has been part of Rodgers’ MO since the Jets acquired him in 2023.

Since Robert Saleh outed Rodgers for his “unexcused” absence, the New York Jets head coach attempted to diffuse the situation, saying that he and his 40-year-old future Hall of Fame quarterback are on the same page.

“Aaron and I are on the exact same page. There’s no issue between Aaron or his teammates, for that matter. We addressed it yesterday. It’s more of an issue for everyone outside the building than it is inside,” Saleh told reporters in June.

Rodgers spent the offseason recovering from an Achilles tear that he suffered just four plays into his Jets career. As such, the controversial Super Bowl-winning conspiracy theorist has yet to complete an official pass as a member of the organization.

In his first game back from injury, Rodgers and the Jets will be traveling to the West Coast to take on the San Francisco 49ers, the Super Bowl betting favorites, for the first Monday Night Football game of the season.
