Actor Tom Felton of Harry Potter fame got a bit emotional after getting behind the wheel of a supercar. On Wednesday, Felton and 10 other celebrities and influences participated in Formula E’s first-ever Evo Sessions.
After participating in an intense training program that included simulator sessions, physical conditioning, and driver coaching, the 11 celebrity influencers were allowed to drive the world’s fastest electric race car, the GEN3 Evo, at the Miami International Autodrome.
Following his on-track experience, an emotional Felton was visibly shaken by the experience.
“I’m so excited, so exhausted, my heart is thumping out of my chest. This was a childhood dream of mine to be near these cars and to actually drive them. I couldn’t believe the G-force, I couldn’t believe it kept going, it kept getting faster and faster.”

Soccer superstar Sergio Aguero appeared to have the opposite reaction as Felton and was not fazed at all by driving the supercar.
Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E, spoke about the idea behind Evo sessions and allowing celebrities/influencers to get behind the wheel of their electic supercars.
“The initial reaction when I presented the concept of ‘Evo Sessions’ to our teams and partners was, ‘this is wild!’ – which is when I immediately knew we had to bring it to life. We wanted to do something that has never been done before in motorsport; something that would give audiences and our fan base a unique perspective into the world of a Formula E driver, through the eyes of some of their favourite online personalities.
“Formula E is the fastest growing motorsport in the world, and we have a clear target to hit half a billion fans by 2030. Through collaborating with some of the biggest names in popular culture right now, we’re able to open up Formula E to a whole new fanbase.
“I’ve been lucky enough to get behind the wheel of a Formula E racing car, but this event will be truly eye opening on what it takes to be an elite racing driver. It will uncover the world-class ability of the drivers and teams alike and highlight the raw skill and ingenuity we have in the championship.”
