Jessica Hadwin’s husband, Adam, is playing in The Open Championship this weekend, finishing up his opening round on Thursday. With the tournament taking place in Scotland, viewers in the United States will need be up bright and early to catch the action.

Alarms were set for the wee hours of the morning ahead of Round 1, with the first group teeing off at 1:35 am on the East Coast. Adam Hadwin’s group got started a bit later at 4:14 am.

His wife probably had some catching up to do when her wakeup call came on Thursday, as she refused to be inconvenienced by the tournament’s start time.

She said as much the night before the Open Championship, while hilariously calling those golf fiends that plan to watch throughout all hours of the day “sick.”

“I’m blown away reading how many people on here are getting up in the middle of the night to watch golf,” she wrote on her X timeline Wednesday. “Y’all are sick lol.”

With this being the final major of the golf season, more than a few fans will be wide-eyed and bushy-tailed to tune in for those 1:30 am tee times. A large majority of them responded to Jessica Hadwin by saying they’ll be up and at ’em.

“It’s the one major I refuse to miss. And drinks at 4:30am are still acceptable, of course, as the sun hasn’t risen.”

“Pulling an all nighter! I can sleep during work tomorrow.”

“I guess I’m sick. I’ll absolutely be up.”

Hadwin responded to those commenters, actually showing a bit of remorse in one particular instance.

“This brings me a little guilt as I’m choosing sleep over watching my husband in a major,” she replied to someone noting that her husband is a popular pick in the tournament.

The guilt wasn’t enough to change her mind, though!

Adam Hadwin, meanwhile, kicked his morning off just after 4:00 am ET. He shot +4 in his Thursday round, firmly placed in a tie for 82nd place at day’s end.

Hopefully, Jessica Hadwin can catch him tee off in Round 2 with his group set to start at 9:15 am ET.
