We’re probably still a couple of years away from the release of Happy Gilmore 2, but Adam Sandler hasn’t been shy about dropping hints about what we can expect from the highly-anticipated sequel to one of his most beloved movies—which will apparently include an appearance by Travis Kelce.

Earlier this year, Christopher McDonald—the actor best known for playing Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore—treated the world to a fairly unexpected development when he revealed Adam Sandler had shown him a rough version of the script for a follow-up to the golf comedy that was (somehow) released close to three decades ago.

It didn’t take long for The Sandman to confirm he was working on Happy Gilmore 2, and in May, Netflix announced it had inked a deal to produce a project that will start filming in New Jersey in September.

Sander will obviously be reprising his role as the aspiring hockey player-turned-professional golfer, and while he hasn’t shed a ton of light on the actual plot, he has given us some insight into his vision by saying there was a chance notable names including Tiger Woods and Drew Carey could end up appearing in the movie.

In May, Travis Kelce shamelessly threw his hat into the ring while responding to a fairly flimsy theory floated by someone who speculated he’d already landed a role in Happy Gilmore 2, and it appears he was able to manifest that dream based on what Sandler had to say while discussing the upcoming project.

On Tuesday, the comedian sat down with Jimmy Fallon for a conversation where he said a number of pro golfers have carved out some time in their schedule to appear in a movie that will apparently feature the Chiefs tight end.

Here’s what he had to say:

“Travis mentioned it, so we have a nice something for Travis. He’s going to come by. He’s a very nice guy.

You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and so funny.”

The development surfaced the same day we learned Kelce landed a leading role in a buddy cop comedy being produced by John Wick director Chad Stahelski, so it would appear his plan to take Hollywood by storm is firmly in motion.
