The eldest son of former NFL running back Adrian Peterson is one of the fastest-rising prospects in high school football and track and field. The eighth grader broke school records in both the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints at his most recent meet.
Adrian Peterson Jr. is next up!
Although it should not come as a surprise that the son of an NFL legend is equally as freakish of an athlete as his father, his name should not take away from his accomplishments. He earned it.
Adrian Peterson Jr. is a three-sport athlete.
Adrian Peterson officially retired from football in 2021 after 15 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals, Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks. He was 35 when he decided to hang it up.
Now 40 years old, it is time for him to move over because Junior’s got next.
Peterson Jr. stands 6-foot-1 at 14 years old. The multi-sport athlete plays multiple positions during football season in the fall, outfield and pitcher during baseball season in the spring and summer, and runs track in between. He is an AAU JR Olympian and All-American.
There is still a long way to go before Peterson Jr. has to decide on his future but it seems like he is going to follow in his dad’s footsteps. It doesn’t matter where he is on the field. Opposing defenses cannot bring him down.

You gotta see this side-by-side… Class of 2030!
Adrian Peterson and his 13-year-old son Adrian Peterson Jr. literally TRUCKING defenders in the same exact way!
Same explosion, same “get outta my way” energy! pic.twitter.com/ILGitpvbLa
Part of what makes Peterson Jr. such a special athlete is his speed. The 14-year-old speedster is just as dominant on the track as he is the gridiron— if not even more so.
He broke multiple records in track and field.
Adrian Peterson Jr. specializes in the 100 and 200 as a sprinter. He owns both school records at Baines Middle School in Texas.
His time of 10.7 seconds in the 100-meter is less than one full second off of the 9.79-second pace from the Olympic final in Paris. As an eighth grader…

He also went 22.07 in the 200, which is just .10 seconds off of the national high school record. Again, as an eighth grader…

Peterson Jr. also helped to break the district record in the 4×100 relay with a time of 43.82. It was all gold everything for the rising three-sport star!
