Adrian Wojnarowski was responsible for breaking some major NBA stories during his lengthy career as the league’s preeminent insider. Now, he’s giving fans a chance to get their hands on some history by auctioning off the phones he used to drop some notable Woj Bombs as part of his new gig.

There are plenty of reporters who make a living covering the NBA, but you’d be hard-pressed to find many who made a bigger name for themself than Adrian Wojnarowski, the man who spent close to two decades as an insider who was routinely the first person to learn about a big trade, major signing, and other notable stories concerning the league he devoted his life to covering.

It was a pretty taxing gig, and last year, Wojnarowski announced he’d decided to kick off a new chapter in his life at the age of 55 by stepping away from his job as an NBA insider and the media world as a whole after accepting the role of the first-ever General Manager of the men’s basketball team at St. Bonaventure, his alma mater.

One of his primary duties as the GM of the Bonnies is helping the team stay competitive on the NIL front, which is no easy task for an Atlantic 10 team affiliated with a university in a fairly remote part of Western New York with an enrollment of around 2,100 students.

On Monday, Wojnarowski announced he’s contributing to the cause by organizing an auction to benefit the team’s NIL fund featuring memorabilia from his career as an insider—including a number of phones that were used to send some of his most notable Woj Bombs.

I’d argue the crown jewel of the auction is the iPhone 11 he used to announce the NBA was canceling its season due to the pandemic (which currently has a high bid of $525), although you can also get your hands on the one that sent out the tweet about Paul George’s trade to the Clippers and another he harnessed to reveal his retirement.

There are also a number of press passes, an ID card from his days at ESPN, and the chance to talk with him on the phone or have dinner with him, which will all be available to bid on until the auction ends on March 3rd.
