A’ja Wilson Roasted Her Teammates For Scrambling To Take Pictures With Usher After Upset Loss

Usher was in the building to watch the Las Vegas Aces face off against the Chicago Sky on Tuesday night, and A’ja Wilson wasn’t shy about profanely calling out some of her underperforming teammates for lining up for pictures with the R&B superstar in the immediate wake of a pretty shocking loss.

In 2022, A’ja Wilson transformed into a quote machine during the press conference that was held after the Las Vegas Aces secured their first WNBA title in franchise history.

She said that anyone who showed up to the parade needed to be four shots deep by the time it kicked off and made it clear she expected Usher (who’d recently kicked off his residency at the MGM Grand) to be front and center when the festivities got underway.

Wilson and the Aces ultimately linked up with Usher when he invited them to attend a show last October, and on Tuesday night, he was sitting courtside at Michelob ULTRA Arena to watch them host the Chicago Sky in a contest where the home team was riding a four-game winning streak and listed as +13.5 points favorites over Angel Reese and Co.

However, the Sky flipped the script by jumping out to an early lead, and while the Aces were able to make things competitive in the fourth quarter, they were unable to pull off the comeback in the 93-85 loss.

Wilson did what she could in a game where she notched a double-double with a team-high 28 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

She wasn’t afraid to call out some of her teammates for rushing to rub shoulders with their high-profile supporter even though their performance had left a bit to be desired, saying “They ain’t did s— all day but they want to take a motherf—ing picture with Usher.”

While it doesn’t seem like Wilson was genuinely angry at her teammates, it’s also pretty clear she was (understandably) frustrated by how things played out.

The Aces will have plenty of time to reset as they head into the Olympic break, and they’ll have the chance to bounce back when they face off against the Liberty on August 17th.
