Alabama never gave Wisconsin a chance during Saturday’s college football game in Madison. Not only did the Crimson Tide run away with a blowout win, they ruthlessly mocked the Badgers’ most famous tradition.

It was salt pour directly in the wound.

House of Pain’s 1992 smash hit ‘Jump Around‘ plays over the loudspeaker at Camp Randall to begin the third quarter. Fans — especially the students — adhere to the song’s simple request. They get out of their seats and jump around to create an electric atmosphere that is unmatched in the sports world.

However, ‘Jump Around’ is a lot less fun when the scoreboard is flipped in the wrong direction as it was this weekend. Alabama took a 35-10 lead into the fourth quarter.

A large number of Wisconsin fans had already hit the exits by that point, but those who stuck around were forced to feign excitement while down by 25 in a game that was all-but over. Many of them remained in their seats. They did not jump around. Nor did the players.

Alabama jumped around!

On the flip side of the equation, the Crimson Tide had a blast. Anybody and everybody who made the trip from Tuscaloosa to Madison joined in on the action in rival territory.

That included the sideline!

If you didn’t know what was going on, you would think that it was the visitor’s tradition.

To be fair to the Badgers, starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke exited the game with an injury in the first quarter and did not return. His lack of presence on the field probably didn’t change the outcome of the game but it certainly didn’t help.

Regardless of circumstance, Alabama went into Big Ten country for a true non-conference game for the first time in nearly two decades and left with a dominant victory. Wisconsin’s head coach called it how it is to his players after the game.

To make the takeover even more brutal, Crimson Tide wide receiver Germie Bernard took aim at the famous tradition during postgame.

Shut it down they did indeed!
