The national anthem has been known to elicit tears of admiration as people here the Star Spangled Banner. Sadly, that was not the case at Monday’s Home Run Derby on Monday.

Instead, the national anthem by Ingrid Andress was widely panned, with players openly laughing at the performance in an embarrassment for MLB.

I’m sure everyone expected a very normal national anthem. Instead, they got a truly awful performance that was universally panned on social media.

I’m no vocal critic, but that is absolutely not good. Phillies infielder Alec Bohm didn’t think so, either.

Thing is, this isn’t some random they found on the street. Ingrid Andress has been nominated for four Grammy’s, three coming at the 63rd Grammy Awards for Best Country Song, Best, and Best New Artist. The 32-year-old did not show any of that talent during that performance.

This year’s All Star festivities are in Arlington, Texas at Globe Life Field, home of the Rangers.
