It isn’t going to surprise anybody if the Green Bay Packers‘ offense looks a whole lot different next season.

It seems very likely that Aaron Rodgers won’t be under center for the Packers for the first time since 2007 next season whether or not he chooses to retire.

They also have a few notable pass catchers who could head for free agency this offseason. Robert Tonyan, Randall Cobb, and Allen Lazard are all no longer under contract with the Packers.

All three could potentially return to the Packers. Trading Rodgers would open up plenty of cap space to bring them back.

However, it seems one of these players is excited about the possibility of testing free agency this offseason.

Yesterday, Allen Lazard made an appearance on Sirius XM NFL Radio and revealed that he is excited to see what all of his possibilities are.

My agent, I believe, has started to talk to them a little bit in recent weeks, but they haven’t said anything as far as preventing me from going to the open market.

The Packers entered the 2022 season with a lot of uncertainty at wide receiver. Lazard stepped up as Rodgers’ most dependable target and had some of his biggest games of the year in the first half of the season while the team waited for their rookies to acclimate to the league.

Lazard led the Packers in catches and yards, setting career highs in both categories.

While he had a strong season, it was a season that also showed he probably isn’t a receiver you want to be your number 1 guy at the position.

Still, he should garner plenty of interest from teams looking for a dependable 2nd or 3rd option for their passing game.

Losing him would be a big blow for the Green Bay Packers, especially with Jordan Love potentially taking over as their starter for the first time, but he could potentially be pried away if another team makes the right offer.
