The New York Police Department confirmed that 26-year old Luigi Mangione was in the custody of the Altoona Police Department and is a person of interest in the killing.
He was in possession of a ghost gun that was able to fire a 9-millimeter round and a suppressor, officials said during a news conference Monday afternoon in New York.
Mr. Mangione was arrested Monday in Altoona after a McDonald’s employee called the police after recognizing him from photos that were circulated by the NYPD, Commissioner Jessica Tisch said.
Not long after Mangione’s arrest, the Altoona McDonald’s began receiving one-star reviews on Yelp because people are angry at the employee who reported Mangione to the police.
