Earlier this season, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens made headlines with an inadvertent shot at Lions pass catcher Amon-Ra St. Brown.

The Detroit star hasn’t forgotten the slander. This week, he unveiled a new merchandise line featuring Pickens’ disrespectful words. He’s chosen to profit off of the shade.

In mid-October, Pickens appeared on FS1’s The Facility. He was asked his opinion on NFL receiver rankings, and where he believes he’s positioned in that group. Pickens emphatically stated that he was Top 5 before taking a jab at St. Brown.

He called St. Brown a “slot merchant” that gets “fed the ball” by the Detroit Lions. Pickens believes that those targets inflate the numbers of St. Brown and other wideouts who consistently play on the inside as opposed to out wide.

That offensive trend continued throughout the 2024 season with St. Brown hauling in 115 catches to lead the team. Pickens, meanwhile, recorded 59 catches for 900 yards.

Both players wrapped up their regular seasons on Sunday, though with largely different results. Detroit secured the No. 1 seed in the NFC with a dismantling of the Minnesota Vikings. Pittsburgh fell to the Bengals, missing out on a chance to land the top wildcard slot in the AFC.

Amon-Ra St. Brown celebrated that successful campaign with a merchandise release this week. He dropped a new line of “Slot Merchant” gear available for purchase on his online store.

St. Brown didn’t forget about the shade. He’ll profit off of it after another productive season.
