The Angel Reese-Caitlin Clark rivalry is as fun and intense as any in sports, at least on social media. The old college foes quickly transitioned to becoming the WNBA’s most marquee rivalry.

But, on Saturday, the two got the chance to be teammates for the first time as members of Team WNBA in the WNBA All-Star Game, as they took on Team USA before the Olympics.

In what should be considered a minor upset, Clark, Reese, and Team WNBA beat Team USA, as Arike Ogunbowale exploded in the second half with 34 points, and Team WNBA won 116-109.

Clark and Reese both played huge parts in the win. Despite cold shooting that led to only four points for Caitlin, she dished out a WNBA All-Star Game rookie record 10 assists, one shy of the all-time record held by Sue Bird. And, Angel Reese, who has established herself as the biggest double-double threat in the WNBA already, had another one, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, including five offensive boards.

During the game, Angel Reese was interviewed about playing with Caitlin Clark. She had only great things to say about playing with her.

The two worked well together in their limited minutes together, and created a great moment when Clark used her great vision to find Angel Reese open for an easy bucket.

It seems likely at this point that both of them will be on Team USA when the Summer Olympics come back stateside for Los Angeles 2028. For now, we will have to wait until the fourth and final meeting between Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever and Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky after the Olympics break on August 30.
