Angel Reese is one of the best rebounders in the WNBA and you cannot take that away from her. With that being said, the Chicago Sky rookie continues to make history on the glass while simultaneously bricking shots in an extremely ugly manner.
She is so awful on offense that teams are literally just ~ letting her shoot ~ without any defense.
Reese became the first player in WNBA history to record at least 20 rebounds in consecutive games on Friday. The No. 7 overall pick ended the night with 13 points and 20 boards in a two-point loss to the Connecticut Sun after scoring 19 points with 20 rebounds in a blowout loss at Phoenix last weekend.
Without context, it is rather impressive!!!
However, even though Reese is undoubtedly making her mark on the league as a first-year player, she is also making a mockery of the double-double. A large number of her rebounds are off of her own misses.
It is extremely frustrating to watch the 6-foot-3 forward on offense because she cannot seem finish at the rim on her first attempt.

Reese went 3-of-12 in Friday’s loss. Connecticut welcomed her to shoot. The Sun didn’t even mark her outside of the paint. She still couldn’t knock it down.

To make matters worse, Angel Reese had the audacity to taunt five-time WNBA All-Star with the “too small” gesture after finally getting a bucket in the third quarter. She went one-on-one with Alyssa Thomas and… missed. She got her own rebound, as is typically the case, and scored on the putback.
Reese then lowered her hand to the floor in a mockery of Thomas.
Not only did the Sky go on to lose the game, its superstar rookie shot only 25%. That is not a good night.
This is not to discredit Reese’s strong rookie season. Good luck trying to beat her for a rebound. Opponents are shooting less than 40% from the field when she is guarding them.
Those are strong numbers… but Angel Reese is still a liability on offense, most of the time. More than one thing can be true!
