Arch Manning is officially on the board with his first career touchdown pass in college football.
The redshirt freshman came on in place of Quinn Ewers for the Texas Longhorns in the second half of Saturday’s blowout of the Colorado State Rams.
Late in the third quarter, he took a snap in the red zone, avoided several Colorado State defenders and then shoveled the ball to wide receiver Silas Bolden for the score.

Manning completed his first four (at the time of writing) passes of the game for 65 yards and a touchdown against a badly overmatched CSU team.
But the touchdown pass showed that he’s much more than just a pocket passer.
Manning, who remained adamant about staying at Texas and sitting behind Ewers, showed off a dramatic physical development from his first year in college to his second.
“I haven’t looked into transferring at all,” Manning said in July. “I’m just focused on developing and helping this team in any way I can. And hopefully one day playing for the University of Texas like I’ve always wanted to.”
So, why not transfer and play elsewhere?
“It’s tough because you want to be out there playing with your boys,” Manning said. “But (it came down to) just realizing there’s nowhere else I want to be, and it was my dream to play at Texas. I’m going to stick it out and play there eventually.”
