It may not look it based strictly on his appearance but Arch Manning is “good in any hood.” Texas wide receiver Ryan Wingo confirmed his quarterback has street cred after he brought him to St. Louis for the first time.
The 21-year-old looked entirely out of place but he managed to fit right in!
Manning, entering his first college football season as the starting quarterback for the Longhorns, made a promise to his to top pass-catcher a few months back. Wingo hosted his first-ever youth football skills camp in his hometown of St. Louis at his former high school over the weekend.
He asked a few of his teammates if they wanted to join him. Manning, Colin Simmons, Aaron Butler and DeAndre Moore Jr. said yes without hesitation. They all flew up from Austin to help out with the kids.
"My main goal is to have fun. I want everything to be about the kids. Nothing about me, nothing about nobody else. Just all about the kids"

Ryan Wingo shared his excitement for athletes at his football camp…

One particular interaction was especially hilarious. The lady working the check-in table asked Manning for his last name because she did not know who he was. Manning responded, “uhhh… Manning.”

Not long thereafter, a series of images started to surface on social media. Wingo brought his teammates back to his childhood block on Greer Avenue. Arch Manning stuck out like a sore thumb for two reasons.
First and foremost, he was wearing a quarter-zip sweatshirt during the summer in St. Louis. The heat and humidity must not be an issue for someone who grew up in New Orleans! Manning also stood out for another reason. Take a look:

He was the only white dude at the cookout. Singular.

Ryan Wingo’s cousin, Corleone, posted the following image to his Instagram story:

As you could imagine, the internet had a field day with the photo. One Texas fan quipped that his QB is “good in any hood.” Wingo confirmed it as truth!

Everything about this interaction is fantastic. Not only did Ryan Wingo give back to his community, his teammates were eager to support him. And Arch Manning got an invite to the cookout!
