What began as a night of celebration after winning an Unrivaled championship with Mist BC turned into a night of disaster for WNBA superstar Arike Ogunbowale.

According to Fox Sports reporter Andy Slater, Ogunbowale was arrested on Thursday at Club E11EVEN in Miami after police stated she punched a man in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

Slater also reports that the incident was caught on video. However, he did not say what led to the altercation.

Arike Ogunbowale Arrested For Assault At Club After Unrivaled Championship

Ogunbowale, 29, is a four-time WNBA All-Star who currently plays for the Dallas Wings. The former Notre Dame star played in both the inaugural and most recent seasons for Unrivaled. She scored 19 points in Wednesday night’s 80-74 championship game over Phantom BC.

At this time, further details of her arrest are not available. However, the incident comes at the worst possible time for the WNBA and its players, who are currently locked in ugly labor dispute.

The 2026 WNBA season is set to begin in late April. However, the deadline for a new CBA is fast approaching an players appear to be scrambling to get on the same page.

If no deal is reached by the March 10 deadline, the 2026 season faces the risk of delay or, worse, complete cancellation. The standoff comes after two seasons that saw the league experience exponential growth. However, the current labor standoff risks cutting the legs out from under both the league and its players moving forward.
