The Arkansas basketball team made a splash hire this offseason, swiping John Calipari from SEC rival Kentucky. As he gears up for Year 1 in Fayetteville, it seems Big Blue Nation is taking interest in his new program.

On Monday, a Wildcats fan attempted to troll the head coach with an Olympic team graphic showing a number of Cal’s former players. It didn’t take long for Arkansas to bite back!

Kentucky boasts a handful of former players on the Team USA roster as it preps for a trip to the 2024 Paris Games. Included are NBA standouts Anthony Davis, Devin Booker, and Bam Adebayo.

While attempting to take a swipe at the Razorbacks, one Kentucky supporter used that trio to create a fake graphic online that began gaining major attention.

The post suggested that the Arkansas Razorbacks were using Coach Cal’s success at Kentucky to prop up their own program since it boasts no former players on that Team USA roster.

The Arky social media team bit back quickly at the unwanted jab.

Arkansas basketball ripped the fake graphic and responded with a post of its own.

The university’s Director of Digital Strategy Rachael Harris quickly reacted to the troll job by saying, “Hi. I run this account. This was never posted. Thanks for your time.”

Not long thereafter, the Razorbacks’ X timeline included a new post.

The video simply showed Arkansas players doing Arkansas things. The Razorbacks aren’t worried about the Wildcats, though it still appears the Hogs are living rent free in the minds of Big Blue Nation.

The clip was just eight seconds long, showing one alley-oop dunk. Still, it said all that was needed to send the message.
