With the first day of classes underway across the South, college basketball season is not that far away and Arkansas is looking forward to a new era. The Razorbacks took a not-so-subtle jab at their new SEC opponent, Texas, while announcing their conference schedule for 2024/25.

Horns down!

Arkansas has had a lot of success on the hardwood in recent years under Eric Musselman. However, its head coach bounced for USC during the offseason and changed the entire landscape of the sport.

In a shocking move that no one saw coming, the Razorbacks hired John Calipari away from Kentucky after 15 years with the Wildcats. He brought a few recruits with him. The entire roster will look different.

As will the schedule.

Texas and Oklahoma officially joined the Southeastern Conference on July 1. Arkansas will play both teams in 2024, as it announced on Tuesday afternoon. Look closely!

All of the schools on in the SEC are included in the graphic. Auburn, Mississippi State, LSU, A&M, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Florida, Missouri, Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia, South Carolina, Oklahoma and Texas.

However, one logo is not placed correctly and the Hogs did it on purpose.

The Longhorns’ logo is upside down…

Only the left horn snuck its way into the graphic, but the Horns are most certainly Down!

The SEC recently clarified its rules on the anti-Texas taunt and promised not to penalize players unless they are outwardly disrespectful. Subtlety is going to be the key with Horns Down in the new era of conference realignment and Arkansas absolutely nailed it. The Razorbacks social media team’s use of the troll is brilliant. It’s just enough to get the message across without being obnoxious.

This is only the beginning. SEC teams are going to be throwing Horns Down or sneaking it into graphics as often as they can!
