Don’t look now but Army even better positioned to compete for a national championship in college lacrosse in 2026 than ever before. Keagan Treacy is a monster.

The 6-foot-5 senior is not someone you want to see coming at you in the open field.

While college lacrosse might be a team sport, one absolute menace on defense can be the difference between a win and a loss. Good luck trying to get past Treacy.

Army needs to win the Patriot League.

The United States Military Academy finished as one of the top teams in the country last season. Army finished with an overall record of 12-2, with only one loss during the regular season in overtime and one loss during the conference tournament to Colgate.

Although it was one of the best overall campaigns in program history, the Black Knights missed out on the NCAA Tournament. Only the Raiders got a bid out of the Patriot Leauge.

That will likely be the case again in 2026. Only one team will advance to the Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship bracket from the Patriot League. It will be crucial for Army to win the conference.

And if there was ever a year to do it, this appears to be the one. Colgate already fell to 1-3 on the season. Every other team in the league already has one loss— including No. 15 Boston University.

The Black Knights are undefeated. They started the year with a win over UMass, defeated No. 18 Rutgers in New Jersey and destroyed Yale. Michigan, Mercer, Holy Cross, Lafayette, No. 5 North Carolina, Lehigh, Bucknell, Navy, Loyola Maryland, Colgate and a rematch with Boston are still on the schedule. It won’t be easy.

Keagan Treacy is a college lacrosse animal.

Hill and Evan Plunkett are the biggest offensive stars on the team. Evan is a middie who often finds his younger brother on the attack. Gunnar Fellows and Brayden Fountain also score a lot of goals.

On the other end of the field is defenseman Keagan Treacy. The senior captain stands 6-foot-5. His weight is not listed but he certainly fills out his frame at somewhere around 210/220. Sheesh.

A photo of Treacy standing next to a player from Rutgers puts his size into perspective. He looks menacing, to say the least.

Treacy wears No. 98, does not wear any arm protection and rocks double calf sleeves with a full face of eyeblack indoors. His shorts are rolled up to expose his monster quads.

And… he plays for Army… which means he is a trained assassin.

Good luck trying to stop him when he is barreling down field at full speed. GET OFF THE TRACKS!

The Plunkett brothers are going to be crucial for the Black Knights this season. But you cannot win games if you allow your opponent to score more goals. That’s where Treacy comes in. What a monster!
