The Atlanta Falcons lost at home to the Washington Commanders on Sunday, thus gifting NFL fans with a bevy of new hilarious Arthur Smith reaction shots.

Thanks to Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder throwing three (largely baffling) interceptions, CBS’ cameras were able to catch hilarious clips of Smith reacting to his QB almost single-handily losing the game for his team, which ended with a final score of 24-16.

Maybe it’s the mustache, maybe it’s the fact that he looks simultaneously young and old (take a guess in your head how old you think he is — we’ll let you know the answer in the following paragraph), but something about Smith’s face has made it arguably one of the funniest aspects of the National Football League.

Following the loss the the Commanders, the Falcons now sit at 3-3, which puts them right in the thick of the NFC South race, as two of the division’s other teams, the Tampa Bay Bucs and New Orleans Saints, also have three wins.

Prior to being hired as the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons prior to the start of the 2021 season, the 41-year-old Smith spent the majority of his professional career with. the Tennessee Titans, serving as the team’s defensive quality control coach, offensive quality control coach, offensive line/tight end assistant, assistant tight ends coach, tight ends coach, and offensive coordinator. Smith also spent time at the University of North Carolina, Ole Miss, and the Washington Commanders.

Smith and the Falcons will next head to South Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, October 22 in a crucial NFC South matchup.

Given the struggles of second-year signal-caller Desmond Ridder thus far this season, it’ll be interesting to see if the Falcons — who can certainly win the NFC South with competent QB play — will turn to backup Taylor Heinecke, who has prove he ca win games in the NFL.
