Former New England Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel hasn’t taken well to Tom Brady’s claim that he “doesn’t have a dog in the fight” in Super Bowl LX between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. Brady spent 20 years with the Pats and won six Super Bowl titles with the organization.
Two-time Super Bowl champion and four-time Pro Bowler Asante Samuel — who played for the Patriots from 2003 to 2007, winning two championships with the team — went nuclear on Tom Brady on social media after catching wind of his comments about not rooting for the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
“I don’t have a dog in the fight in this one. May the best team win,” Brady said this week on the Let’s Go! podcast.
“And in terms of the Patriots, this is a new chapter in New England, and I’m glad everyone’s embraced the Mike Vrabel regime, all the amazing players that have worked so hard to get their club to this position. We did it for 20 years. There was a little bit of a hiatus in there, but the Patriots are back and it’s a very exciting time for everyone in New England.”
Former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel threatened to ‘go ape s—‘ about who Tom Brady is after the QB said he won’t be rooting for the Patriots in Super Bowl LX
This stance did not fly with Samuel, however, as he fired off a string of tweets at/about Brady, including one in which he literally threatened TB12 like a Batman villain would, giving him “23 hours to respond” or Samuel will “go ape s— about who [Brady] is.”
At the time of this writing, Samuel’s ’23 hours’ tweet was about 12 hours ago, giving Brady another 11 hours to respond (around 8:45 p.m. is the deadline).

Samuel clearly, and understandably, has quite an affection toward that era of Patriots football, as he went to bat for his former coach Bill Belichick after he was snubbed from the Pro Football Hall of Fame late last month (he’ll get in eventually, just not this year).

Samuel played in the NFL from 2003 to 2013 with the Patriots, New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons. Now, his son Asante Samuel Jr. is in the league and plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
