Asher Conniff Wins The First WSOP Gold Bracelet Of 2024 After Grueling Heads-Up Battle


The 2024 WSOP is off and running and Brooklyn-based poker pro Asher Conniff won the first gold bracelet of the year after taking down Event #1, the ‘Champions Reunion’ tournament which offered some interesting bounties.

This year’s World Series of Poker series started with the all-new ‘Champions Reunion’ event as the first tournament of the Summer. Every living champion of the WSOP Main Event received free entry in to the $5,000 buy-in event *AND* every player that knocked out a former WSOP Main Event champion from the event received an automatic entry ($10,000) into the 2024 World Series of Poker Main Event.

Asher Conniff won the first gold bracelet of the Summer after beating Turkey’s Halil Tasyurek heads-up. Halil had a commanding chip lead early in the heads-up match. At one point, he had 19.75M chips to Conniff’s 4.9M chips but a lucky all-in turned the tides:

Asher Conniff took home $408,468 in addition to the gold bracelet. He also earned 1,107.8 Player of the Year points for his win.
