Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty is not only one of the best players on the G4 level, he has a legitimate opportunity to play his way into an invitation to New York in December. That apparently does not make him exempt from on-campus parking tickets.

The timing of his most recent citation could not be any more unfortunate, for lack of better word.

Jeanty, a junior, ran for 1,347 yards and 14 touchdowns on 220 carries in 2023. He also averaged 13.2 yards per touch on 43 receptions last season.

It was a breakout year for the 5-foot-9, 215-pound ball-carrier that propelled him to a prominent standing within college football. If you didn’t know his name before, let this be your introduction. There is a genuine belief in Idaho that the Broncos could player their way into a Playoff spot and Ashton Jeanty will be the primary catalyst in their success.

In anticipation of a big year, Boise State officially launched a Heisman campaign on Wednesday. Its star running back wears No. 2, so the hashtag #HEI2MAN was an easy one. Pressure is on!

The Horseshoe Collective reportedly paid the Broncos running back $300,000 to stay out of the transfer portal during the offseason. He also received housing for the year as well as a vehicle upgrade.

Jeanty drives in style— unless Boise State’s Transportation and Parking department gives him the boot.

They slapped his new vehicle with a citation on Wednesday afternoon. It was issued no more than an hour before the official rollout of his #HEI2MAN campaign.

Hopefully that isn’t a bad omen!

Even though he is far more important to the university’s athletic success than anyone else on campus, Ashton Jeanty is not exempt from parking tickets. He has to follow the rules like every other student. Fine.

But to get hit with a ticket less than 30 minutes before you announce yourself to the world as the best player in the country is not a great sign…
