Auburn fans were not happy with the referees after a buzzer-beater was overturned during the college basketball game against Texas A&M. They threw drinks and trash onto the court.

An older man sitting courtside completely missed his intended target with his attempt to hit an official.

Although the college basketball officials made the correct call, it did not go over well with the home crowd. The joyous victory very quickly became a crushing loss.

Texas A&M won the college basketball game.

The Tigers trailed the Aggies by two points with less than one full second remaining in the game. They had just .6 of a second for an immediate catch-and-shoot.

Auburn got the ball in to Keshawn Murphy beyond half court. Murphy nailed a triple right at the buzzer to win the game 91-90. It was a jubilant scene at Neville Arena.

However, the made basket was overturned by the officials after a lengthy review.

It appeared to be the correct decision. The ball was still touching Murphy’s hand when the clock hit 0.0.

No good. Game over. Texas A&M was declared the winner, 90-88.

Auburn fans were furious with the referees.

The fans inside the arena could not see the replay in real time. They thought it was the wrong call.

It was a madhouse. Aggies head coach Bucky McMillan could not hear anything during his postgame interview because of the raucous.

Tigers fans threw various objects at the officials as they made their way back up the tunnel with a police escort. One man, sitting courtside, tried to (not-so subtly) lob his drink over his shoulder at the referee. He missed. The liquid went right past the referee onto another fan across the aisle.

All of this, just to go home, watch the replay, and find out it was the correct ruling. Murphy did not get the shot off in time.
