Former NFL punter and radio host Pat McAfee has reportedly asked Augusta National Golf Course to host his radio show there for three straight years. Augusta’s response has essentially been “thanks but not thanks.”
On The Pat McAfee Show earlier this week, Pat McAfee came to the defense of Jason Kelce, who received backlash on social meia after it was announced he’d be part of ESPN’s coverage of the Masters Par-3 Contest.
Pat McAfee claims that Augusta National Golf Course has told him to “go to hell” for three years running when he’s asked to host his show there
During his rant, McAfee revealed that he has pitched Augusta National on hosting his show from the course for three consecutive years and has been shot down each time, with McAfee claiming “they told us to go to hell.”
“To the people that are upset, saying that the Masters are the only thing you got left — know that they’ve turned us down very loudly numerous times,” the former Cults punter said.
“So I think you should be happy about that, that they do try to preserve it as a whole. They have a certain thing that they are looking for,” McAfee added.
Kelce will serve as an on-course reporter for the Par-3 Contest, interviewing players and their families. He’s joined by Scott Van Pelt, Marty Smith, and other ESPN personalities. McAfee, on the other hand, will have to enjoy the tournament from the “Thunderdome” in Indianapolis (his studio).
Scottie Scheffler enters as the +500 favorite to win his third green jacket, with defending champion Rory McIlroy right behind him at +1000. Bryson DeChambeau sits at +1200 alongside Jon Rahm, with Ludvig Åberg and Xander Schauffele both at +1400. The 2026 Masters begins Thursday, April 9 at Augusta National and will run through Sunday, April 12.
