Not only are the Baltimore Orioles one of the three best teams in Major League Baseball, they are young and a lot of fun. Everything about an organization that has been pretty terrible for most of the last few decades is on the come up.

Even the video team down in the Charm City is crushing it!

Seattle traveled to Camden Yards on Sunday. The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Mariners to take the three-game series with their 29th win of the year.

It might have been a lot closer if the losing side was able to get a run on the board in the top of the third inning to cut the score to 3-2 at the time. Colton Cowser, Jorge Mateo and James McCann took it away with an absolutely beautiful sequence that would have made Abner Doubleday smile.

Luke Raley stepped into the box with catcher Cal Raleigh on second base. Seattle’s first baseman knocked a line drive deep into the right field corner.

As Raleigh got on his horse to try and score, Cowser fielded the ball out near the wall and ripped a heater down to Mateo. Baltimore’s second baseman caught the throw in the air near first base. In one fluid motion, he landed back on the ground, turned toward the plate and threw home.

McCann was there to make the tag on Raleigh for the out!

While the actual relay was a work of art on its own, the video is breathtaking. Whomever was on the camera for the Orioles was in the right place at the right time with the right zoom and everything.

When the Oscars roll around next spring, it will be deemed completely invalid if this clip of Cowser to Mateo to McCann isn’t up for Best Short Film!
