A newly surfaced video has cast a spotlight on the lack of effort by Chicago Bears wide receiver Chase Claypool during their Week 1 game against the Green Bay Packers.

The video, which has gained traction on social media shows Claypool seemingly “sleepwalking” through the game, drawing criticism from fans and analysts.

Claypool, who was targeted twice during Sunday’s 38-20 loss to the Packers, failed to make a single catch.

The former Pittsburgh Steelers second-round draft pick, who was traded to the Bears last season, has struggled to find his footing with his new team. Despite high expectations following his acquisition, Claypool’s performance hasn’t lived up to it.

Claypool was traded for what turned out to be the 32nd pick in the NFL draft, essentially a 1st rounder in terms of value.

In eight games with the Bears, Claypool has managed just 14 receptions for 140 yards and has yet to score a touchdown.

The video in question, shared by NFL analyst Mike Renner, highlights Claypool’s lack of effort throughout the game.

Multiple instances captured on film show the wide receiver seemingly disinterested and failing to give his all on the field.

At least Claypool managed to show a bit of effort on this flip here during the game.

The Bears, who had high hopes for Claypool when they traded for him, are undoubtedly disappointed with his lackluster performance.
