While they’ve reportedly been the epitome of strong and friendly co-parents since their divorce in 2018, Ben Affleck reportedly taking a trip around the world to Japan with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and the rest of their family certainly seems note-worthy considering the status of Affleck’s current marriage to Jennifer Lopez.
Although the divorce between the pair has yet to become official, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have been separated for a few months now, as they’ve rarely been spotted together in public and have each either sold and/or purchased new real estate.
According to sources, Lopez has reportedly become close with Affleck’s daughter Violet, whom he shares with Garner. Lopez, however, didn’t get an invite to the family’s recent trip to Japan, which includes Affleck, Garner, Violet, and their other two children.
“While Garner appeared in a few of the photos, she wasn’t on a solo trip. In fact, sources insist that her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, accompanied Garner and their children — Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12 — on this enchanting getaway, as Affleck’s marriage to Lopez is on the outs.” [via She Knows]
A trip to Japan might not be inherently romantic, but it also feels above and beyond the parameters of usual co-parenting, despite how lavishly the pair live.
Despite the apparent disintegration of their romantic relationship, Affleck and Lopez remain bonded professionally as Affleck’s company Artists Equity, which he co-founded with Matt Damon, is producing each of Lopez’s next two films.
The first, Unstoppable, will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Unstoppable is a biopic about one-legged champion Anthony Robles in which Lopez plays his mother.
Lopez’s other upcoming Affleck-produced project is a remake of the 1985 musical film Kiss of the Spider Woman, which was based on the 1976 novel of the same name.
