The Chicago Bears are dead-set on changing the culture after years of subpar results. Hiring new head coach Ben Johnson is a big swing at doing just that and bringing winning football back to Chicago.

In years’ past, players haven’t always been all-in on the culture in Chicago. But, if recent actions by star wide receiver DJ Moore are any indication, the Chicago Bears are going to give their all to Ben Johnson in an attempt to become a winner.

The Chicago Bears were supposed to be a pretty solid football team in 2024. After a strong close to the 2023 season under then-head coach Matt Eberflus, they added a ton of talent in the offseason, including first-overall pick and quarterback-of-the-future Caleb Williams. But, after a 4-2 start, they gave up a game-winning Hail Mary against the Commanders in Week 8 to fall to 4-3. The team never recovered, losing 9 more games in a row before a Week 18 win brought them to 5-12. Eberflus was fired midseason, and consistent effort from the team was lacking down the stretch.

One of the players who had an underwhelming season in Chicago was wide receiver DJ Moore. But, with Ben Johnson being announced as the head coach on Monday with an introductory press conference on Wednesday, Moore knew he needed to be in town when the former Lions offensive coordinator took the podium. And, he left a family vacation to do it!

I get it, people make jokes about the Bears “winning the offseason” every year. But, it’s hard to argue that this offseason isn’t off to a great start.
