Things got heated between the Yankees and the Orioles on Friday night.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Yankees pitcher Clay Holmes drilled Heston Kjerstad in the head on an 0-2 pitch.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde immediately began yelling and pointing toward the Yankees’ dugout, leading to a bench-clearing brawl on the field.

According to MASN’s Ben McDonald, the beef between the Yankees had been brewing since the last time they played in New York.

“This stems from the last time the Orioles were in New York. Aaron Judge gets hit. Then the Yankees throw at Gunnar Henderson and then hit him the next day. And this is where all this starts from.”
