Opposing fans can expect a pretty rude welcome if they attend an Eagles game at The Linc, but one member of the Philly faithful firmly crossed the line when the team hosted the Packers on Sunday. However, it didn’t take the franchise too long to ID the offending spectator before hitting him with a lifetime ban with some help from the man, myth, and legend known as Big Dom.
It’s hard to believe it’s only been a little more than a year since most NFL fans were introduced to “Big Dom” Disandro, who’d been employed by the Philadelphia Eagles since 1999 and was serving as the team’s Chief Security Officer (as well as a senior advisor to the GM) when he was thrust into the spotlight last December after being ejected for forcefully inserting himself into an altercation between Dre Greenlaw and DeVonta Smith.
Big Dom was subsequently banned from standing on the sidelines for the rest of the season, but he made his grand return this year after supplementing his security gig with the promotion that made him the Director of Gameday Coaching Operations (a move seemingly designed to firm up the team’s argument his presence on the sideline during games is justified).
As a result, the folk hero is juggling a ton of different responsibilities—which apparently includes IDing unruly fans who’ve gone viral for all of the wrong reasons.
On Monday, a Packers fan shared a video of an Eagles supporter who deployed some vile language directed at his fiancée while asking the internet for help in his quest to track down the guy in question.
According to Derrick Gunn, Big Dom helmed an investigation into the matter and was able to figure out the offending fan’s identity before bringing down the hammer by banning him from attending any more Eagles games going forward (the team is also reaching out to the woman he targeted to try to make things right).
Here’s an update … Big Dom has identified the guy and woman involved in this incident .. the guy will be banned from future Eagles games .. the eagles will be sending the woman packers gear as an apology .. Eagles once again showing what a class organization they are ..👏🏾👏🏾 https://t.co/ZOUvyB3zzq
