Bill Belichick made his first official address to fans at North Carolina on Saturday. His speech was rudely interrupted by a group of Philadelphia Eagles fans and it could not have been funnier.
The 72-year-old did powered through the ruthless troll but their chant echoed throughout a silent basketball arena while he spoke.
Belichick, a six-time Super Bowl champion head coach, actually played in nine NFL Championships with the New England Patriots. Eli Manning and the Giants beat him twice. The Eagles beat him once in 2018 behind an MVP performance from Nick Foles and the famous ‘Philly Special.’

Tom Brady refuses to say Foles’ name to this day because the loss continues to haunt him so you know Belichick feels the same. Philadelphia will forever leave a sour taste in his mouth.
Now six (almost seven) years later, Bill Belichick is the new head coach at UNC. He plans to run his program like a professional organization and create an NFL pipeline in Chapel Hill. We’ll see if it works.
Either way, these next few years are going to be a lot of fun. Belichick was formally introduced to the Tar Heels at a home basketball game on Saturday.

His speech to the fanbase focused on his vision for the future. He also brought out his first official recruit, four-star in-state quarterback Bryce Baker. The crowd went wild.

Even though it was a joyous occasion for Bill Belichick, the future Hall of Famer could not escape his loss to the Eagles. North Carolina was playing against La Salle, a private Catholic school located in the Germantown neighborhood of North Philadelphia. A few Explorers made the trip to the Dean Smith Center. They made themselves heard at halftime!
It was impossible not to hear the booming “E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!” chant that broke out at the start of Belichick’s address. The legendary coach cracked a smirk but he was not fazed.
NEW ANGLE: You can hear the Eagles chant loud and clear on the court when Bill starts talking. #FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/iIMtexoI2m

With the Bill Belichick era officially underway in the Tar Heel State, the eyes of an entire nation are on Chapel Hill. Scratch that… Chapel BILL!
