There’s a good possibility that Bill Belichick does not end up coaching a team in 2024.
Two weeks ago, Belichick announced that he was “mutually parting ways” with the New England Patriots.

“Robert (Kraft) and I, after a series of discussions, have mutually agreed to part ways,””For me, this is a day of gratitude and celebration. I’ll start with Robert and his family. So much thanks for the opportunity to be the coach here for 24 years”
Since then, Belichick interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons, where many felt he was the frontrunner to get the job.
Unfortunately for Belichick, the Falcons eventually decided to hire Raheem Morris to become the team’s next head coach.
The Falcons interviewed 14 different head coaching candidates, including Bill Belichick, Mike Vrabel and Jim Harbaugh.
But it’s Raheem Morris who ends up getting the job and returns to the NFC South, where he was once the head coach in Tampa Bay. https://t.co/26DabpFP6Z

Apparently, Belichick only interviewed for the Falcons and could possibly sit out until next year to wait for a head coaching job.

“The #Falcons were the only team to interview legendary coach Bill Belichick, and there are no known scheduled interviews. Potentially, Belichick could sit out the year and await an opportunity in 2025.”
According to Jonathan Jones, Belichick has received no interest from the Seahawks and the Commanders over their vacant head coaching jobs.
Regarding Bill Belichick: The Seahawks and Commanders are the final two vacant jobs. Washington has had no interest in pursuing Belichick and appear focused on Ben Johnson. Seattle hasn't requested to interview Belichick.

A wild turn of events for Belichick, who could end up unemployed for the time being.
