Bill Belichick’s North Carolina Debut Was So Bad That ESPN Had Kirk Herbstreit’s Dog Call The Game In 4th Quarter

ESPN/ABC

Kirk Herbstreit’s dog got plenty of airtime during Bill Belichick’s UNC debut on ESPN. Earlier this year, Belichick stunned the football world when he decided to take over as the University of North Carolina’s head coach.

“I am excited for the opportunity at UNC-Chapel Hill,” Belichick said in a statement. “I grew up around college football with my Dad and treasured those times. I have always wanted to coach in college, and now I look forward to building the football program in Chapel Hill.”

On Monday, Belichick made his debut with North Carolina, and things went really poorly. By the third quarter, UNC fans were seen leaving the stadium while the team was getting blown out by TCU.

The game was so bad that Kirk Herbstreit brought his dog into the booth to finish calling the game.
