Bills’ 2022 first-round pick, cornerback Kaiir Elam, is getting trade interest around the league ahead of the trade deadline at the end of the month.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, several NFL teams have expressed keen interest in acquiring the young defender.
Elam’s career so far with the Bills has been a rollercoaster. Despite injuries plaguing their defense, Elam found himself on the sidelines as a healthy inactive for at least five games this season.
Even with star cornerback Tre’Davious White out due to injury, other options seemed more favorable to the team. The Bills recently picked up 35-year-old veteran cornerback Josh Norman from the street and promptly put him in action over Elam for their Week 8 game against the Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football, which they won 24-18.
The Bills, currently standing at 5-3, lost other key defensive players like linebacker Matt Milano.
In his relatively short NFL career spanning two seasons, Elam has seen action in 16 games, recording 55 tackles, 4 passes defended, and 2 interceptions.
What a performance from the rookie Kaiir Elam yesterday! In my opinion was the MVP of the game for the Bills @BuiltInBuffalo_ #BillsMafia

The Bills might end up asking for a defensive player back instead of a draft pick, although that’s just speculation.
