Florida Gators head coach Billy Napier isn’t getting a love from home fans even when the team wins at The Swamp. Last week, it was reported that Napier would likely be fired if he lost another game this season.

Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin met with a handful of influential boosters Tuesday, and was told continuing financial support depends on new direction within the football program, three people with direct knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports.
The people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to protect the ongoing process, said embattled Florida coach Billy Napier could be fired as soon as this weekend. One thing is certain: Napier won’t survive another loss.
Apparently, Gators fans were hoping for Napier’s demise because he was booed off the field after the Gators defeated Mississippi State on Saturday afternoon.

Napier spoke about getting booed by Florida fans during his postgame press conference.
“Yeah, look, I would say that, yeah, I think I’m built for it. I’m made for it. I chose the coaching profession. I was called to coach. The good comes with the bad, the bad comes with the good.”
“I do think the game’s about the players. I’m proud of the players and the way they played. Never going to make everybody happy. You get these leadership positions, you’re in charge, these are the things that come with it, right?”
“I love the game of football. I love the game.”
