Boo Carter wants to rewrite the narrative about his college football career during the next two semesters at Colorado. That’s the plan, at least.

Only time will tell if he can avoid more drama.

Should he get his college football career back on track, Carter wants to be in the NFL as soon as possible. The third-year defensive back hopes to go pro after just one season in Boulder.

Boo Carter did not behave at Tennessee.

As a native of Tennessee, Carter committed to play for the Volunteers as a four-star prospect in the recruiting Class of 2024. He made an immediate impact as a freshman.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound defensive back totaled 38 tackles, one sack and one interception en route to All-SEC honors as both a defender and kick returner. It was a promising start for a promising player. There were no issues.

Unfortunately, Carter could not keep it together.

Not only did his on-field production take a big hit in 2025, he struggled to meet expectations off of the field. The true sophomore was “not plugged in” prior to the season. His mother also fueled rumors that her son might hit the transfer portal while he failed to attend team meetings during fall camp.

Even though Carter ultimately decided to stick around, he made 13 less tackles than the year prior.

And then Tennessee decided to move on. Head coach Josh Heupel made it sound like Carter did something wrong before the Volunteers dismissed him from the team. He hit the transfer portal not too long thereafter. His mother also issued a scathing defense of his character on Facebook.

He must avoid controversy at Colorado before the NFL Draft.

Boo Carter transferred to Colorado to play for Deion Sanders. The Buffaloes were thrilled to land such a talented defensive back.

However, they must keep him on the straight and narrow. Rather, he must keep himself on the straight and narrow.

Carter recently spoke about his desire to rewrite the narrative about his career while getting humbled by the altitude in Boulder during a workout. His goal is to go pro after this season. Coach Prime is going to get him at his best. No more nonsense.

We’ll see whether Boo Carter can get his career back on track. He proved he was a talented player during his freshman season at Tennessee. He and his mother need to get out of their own way.
