Texas A&M fans are going to have extra motivation to be extra loud during its college football game against Missouri on Saturday. Tigers quarterback Brady Cook belittled their ability to impact the opposition with crowd noise at Kyle Field.

The Aggies are going to be fired up to prove him wrong!

To be fair to Cook, he was not intentionally putting down the 12th Man. It just so happened that his comments did exactly that and the folks down in College Station took them personally.

Texas A&M is ranked No. 25 in the country at 4-1. Missouri is ranked No. 9 in the country at 4-0. The latter will travel to the former this weekend for a game that has huge implications for the Southeastern Conference and the College Football Playoff.

The noise level in Kyle Field has been recorded at a volume above 125 decibels, which makes it one of the loudest stadiums in the entire country for any sport. Here is just one example:

Videos don’t even do it justice. If Aggies fans are in full throat, they make it impossible to hear yourself think. Your ears will ring for multiple days after a visit to Kyle Field for a top-10 matchup.

Brady Cook and the Tigers are preparing for the environment during practice. They placed a pair of speakers right behind their offense to blast fake crowd noise at the players.

When asked about the preparatory measures, Cook explained why he thinks the speakers actually make it harder to hear than a stadium of more than 100,000 fans. The noises are different. One is direct. The other is more in the background.

Even though Cook didn’t mean to disparage Texas A&M, the Aggies took it as a slight. They want to make him eat his words.
