The Aaron Rodgers-led New York Jets are in the win column, as they beat the Tennessee Titans, 24-17, on the road on Sunday. Rookie running back Braelon Allen was a huge part of that win to even up the team’s record at 1-1.

The youngster scored the game-winning touchdown late in the 4th quarter as the Jets defense was able to close out the game following the Allen touchdown. After the game, he took a shot at the terrible defense that the Titans played on his touchdown.

The main back for the Jets is definitely Breece Hall, and that won’t change unless Hall suffers an injury. But, Braelon Allen made a big impact on Sunday. He had 7 carries for 33 yards and a touchdown to go along with 2 catches for 23 yards and a touchdown.  This play was the game-winner.

That was a great job by the right side of the Jets offensive line in right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker and Morgan Moses opening up a huge hole for Braelon Allen to run through. In fact, the hole was so big that Braelon Allen said after the game his grandmother could’ve scored on the play!

“It just opened up, literally.  (Jeremy Ruckert) did a great job on the edge, you know, handling the D-end. And you know, all of our double teams got up to the second level, one on one, so it doesn’t get it much easier than that. My nana could probably score on that one,”  Allen said.

If you’re a member of the 0-2 Titans defense, you can’t love that.

Allen was a productive runner for three seasons at Wisconsin. And, he’s only 20-years old and won’t even be old enough to drink until the playoffs. He’s already making a huge impact despite being the youngest player in the NFL.

The Jets will look to get over .500 as they host the Patriots on Thursday Night Football.
