Georgia tight end Brock Bowers is not human. He’s a physical freak that stands 6-foot-4, weighs 240 pounds, and catches everything in sight.
He can also hit top speeds of 20 MPH+, and he’s not letting a silly little ankle surgery get in the way of flashing that incredible athleticism.
Bowers went down with injury during a game against Vanderbilt. As a result, he’s missed the Bulldogs’ last two games against Florida and Missouri.
UGA was able to win each without Bowers in action, but they received some good news ahead of maybe their most challenging matchup of the year.
The ‘Dawgs will take on a Top 10 ranked Ole Miss squad on Saturday, and they’ll likely have to score some points to get the win. It seems Bowers could be back on the field this weekend, with quarterback Carson Beck potentially having his favorite target once again.

Head coach Kirby Smart wouldn’t make a definitive statement on whether or not he’d play this week, but it would appear that he’s on pace (or possibly ahead of schedule) in that recovery process.
Just three weeks after ankle surgery, the tight end is hitting speeds of 20 MPH according to teammates.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint says he heard Brock Bowers has hit “19 or 20 mph” in practice …

That’s music to the ears of Georgia fans, with Ole Miss, Tennessee, and an SEC title game looming.
“IF, and I mean IF, Brock Bowers can play on Saturday, that would be 26 days since surgery. Tua [Tagovailoa] played 27 days after his tight rope surgery…” -UGA insider Rusty Mansell

Through seven games this year, Bowers has hauled in 41 passes for 567 yards and four scores, leading the team in all three categories despite his recent absence.
He’s arguably the top redzone option in all of college football, drawing comparisons to Rob Gronkowski in his prime. He’ll surely be a first round pick come draft time, but right now, he’s putting all of his energy into a third straight national championship run.
The sooner he can return to the field, the more quickly he can make an impact for this Georgia offense.
