Peoples-Jones, a sixth-round pick from the 2020 NFL draft, had been slipping down the pecking order in Cleveland’s offensive plans. Last season, he made quite the splash with 61 receptions for 839 yards and three touchdowns across 14 starts in 17 games. But this season, he made just eight catches for 97 yards, despite playing in seven games, starting 5 of them and playing on 83% of the snaps.

So far in his career, Peoples-Jones has caught 117 passes for 1,837 yards, accompanied by eight touchdowns. He’s got a Michigan connection from his college days.
Lions’ General Manager Brad Holmes seemed happy about the acquisition, expressing his enthusiasm in a post-trade press conference. He said, “We’re excited about the kid. He’s had good production in the past. He’ll be a good fit here. He’s been a high-character kid.”
