Michigan interim head coach Biff Poggi questioned whether starting quarterback Bryce Underwood might actually be Batman after a dominant win over Central Michigan on Saturday. However, the true freshman signal-caller does not drive the Batmobile.
Rather, he drives a Corvette and does so way too fast.
A new video of the 18-year-old college football phenom shows him go from zero to 60 in 2.6 seconds. Literally.
Bryce Underwood needs to slow down.
Before we go any further here, let me make a few things clear.
I have no issue with this particular clip I am about to share nor am I sure whether this is something he does often. I also know that I would’ve been equally as reckless (if not more) if was making $3 million per year as a freshman in college— both with my spending and my speed.
With that being said, Bryce Underwood needs to be very careful. He lives under a bright spotlight. One false move could create a media firestorm that the Wolverines do not need. Or worse.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is currently serving a suspension for causing a high-speed crash in Dallas. He ultimately pleaded guilty to two felony counts of “collision involving serious bodily injury” and “racing on a highway causing bodily injury” and was subsequently sentenced to five years of probation and 30 days in jail.
The football team at the University of Georgia continues to have a major problem with speeding even after a fatal accident in 2023. Shedeur Sanders accidentally hard-launched his new relationship when he got pulled over for speeding in June. Myles Garrett was cited for a similar infraction in August.
None of these incidents are related but they are.
Athletes with nice cars drive fast and they often get in trouble. Underwood does not want to be next.
Corvettes go fast.
Bryce underwood drives what appears to be a brand-new Corvette Z06. His car cost him at least $120,000 depending on modifications and the year. He drives around Ann Arbor in style.
Assuming the Corvette is a 2025 model, the $12 million quarterback can hit a top speed of 195 miles per hour. It can go from zero to 60 in 2.6 seconds.
That leads us to the aforementioned video.
Underwood recently pulled up next to a group of fans at a red light in Michigan. They encouraged him to hit the gas as soon as the light turned green and he obliged.

Fortunately, Underwood had a clear lane in front of him and hit the brakes as soon as he got moving. Unfortunately, this is the kind of thing that could get him in trouble.
This specific video sets a concerning precedent even if caused no harm to anyone.
Bryce Underwood needs to have his hands at 10 and 2. He needs to adhere to the speed limit.
The last thing Michigan needs is for their star quarterback to get pulled over for going 60 in a 40. A reckless driving charge would not only be a distraction but likely a reason for suspension. Drive slow!
