Bryce Young Showed Up To Panthers Camp Looking Like A Middle Schooler And Fans Had Jokes

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young showed up for training camp on Tuesday looking more like a child headed to summer camp than an NFL quarterback.

Young, who has had to fend off critics of his sub-par stature since before Carolina selected him with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, didn’t do himself any favors.

Twitter user @JustBlande posted a video of the Alabama product walking into the Panthers facility with a big red t-shirt and an oversized backpack that made him look smaller than he already is.

“They let him cross the street by himself,” one fan replied.

My bro look like he got a big times table test coming up,” said another.

Bryce Young Had A Horrible Rookie Season For The Carolina Panthers

Young had a horrendous rookie season. The Panthers went 2-15 and had the worst record in the NFL. But their first-round draft pick went to the Chicago Bears as part of a trade Carolina made in order to acquire Young the year prior.

Personally, the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner wasn’t any better.

Young completed less than 60 percent of his passes for 2,877 yards, 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He rushed for just 253 yards and missed time sporadically due to injuries.

“I think for me, I’ve always kind of focused on what I can control, really in all aspects of my life. That’s something I definitely believe in and trying to control what I can control and focus on that and put my energy towards that,” Young told Bleacher Report about his tough debut season. “People’s opinions about me or what people say is something I can’t control and honestly, I feel like everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think that’s the beauty of sports. Everyone gets to put their two cents in and have a conversation about it.
