Bryson DeChambeau’s Latest Swing Drill Might Get Someone Knocked Out

Bryson DeChambeau swings with his eyes closed

Bryson DeChambeau is a complete freak of nature. We’ve known this for a long time but Bryson’s latest swing drill has me convinced he’s simply cut from a different cloth.

I used to be a hater. Everyone knows this. I was drinking gallons of Haterade every time The Scientist would tee it up. But he finally won me over with his performance and demeanor at the PGA Championship and now I’m a Bryson DeChambeau fan and in hindsight I’ve come to realize it wasn’t Bryson I hated, it was just his stupid hats.

Now that I’m a fan, I will be following DeChambeau’s tutelage even if that means I knock someone out on the driving range and get kicked out of my private club for being irresponsible. Here, Bryson DeChambeau shows off “a drill that’s very helpful for learning where the club is in space” and if you guessed “smashing the ball with your eyes closed” then you were correct:

Will I be trying this on the range tomorrow? Yes. Will I also be trying to implement this into the scramble tournament I’m co-planning for Saturday? Also, yes. Even if it’s some sort of mulligan that requires swinging with your eyes closed, I’ll be proposing we incorporate the Bryson DeChambeau blind swing drill into the event.

Frankly, even without trying it I can envision how this will help my swing. And it also reminds me of Bryson’s tip to score lower: play from the kids/ladies tees so you can get used to going low *and then* move back. These tips from Bryson are borne from an incredible mind that looks at golf through a different lens from the rest of us.

I feel bad for being such a hater for so many years, I just with he’d have stopped wearing those stupid hats before joining LIV Golf
