After Tom Brady finally retired from the league, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been searching for a new starting quarterback.
Considering they’re not in the running for a top rookie prospect, the front office has foraged through the free agency pool.
With that said, it sounds like Tampa Bay has finally found their guy. According to Tom Pelissero, the Buccaneers are finalizing a deal to sign Baker Mayfield.
The #Bucs are finalizing a deal with former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield, per sources.

Going from Tom Brady to Baker Mayfield is a bit jarring no matter how you look at it. Even so, the Buccaneers likely plan to give Mayfield a chance to earn the starting role with Kyle Trask as his competition.
This is probably the best-case scenario for Tampa Bay, as the roster isn’t terrible by any means. Additionally, it’s not like the NFC South is a juggernaut division either.
Even so, Buccaneers fans can’t help but react to the idea of Baker Mayfield replacing Tom Brady.

The Buccaneers’ training camp will be one to keep a close eye on, as they will surely have a quarterback battle throughout the summer.
