It’s been a rough go for the Chicago Bulls this season as just outside of the bubble for the play-in game right now.
Many fans are hopeful that Lonzo Ball’s return from injury could be enough to spark a serious run in the back half of the regular season.
Well, those wishes are no longer realistic after the Bulls rule Ball out for the remainder of the season, per Shams Charania.
The Chicago Bulls are expected to shut down guard Lonzo Ball for the remainder of the season, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Pain and discomfort have persisted in Ball’s left knee following two surgeries at the beginning and end of 2022.

For whatever reason, Lonzo Ball’s knee injury hasn’t improved. What makes it even more odd, as reported back in January, is that doctors have no idea why he continues to feel pain in his knee.
According to @JCowleyHoops on 670 The Score:
1) The Chicago Bulls don't know why Lonzo Ball is still feeling pain in his knee. The medical staff doesn't know why there is still pain. Lonzo and his camp also don't know why.
2) Lonzo has had at least 6 opinions from doctors.

At the end of the day, the Bulls feel it’s best to bench him for the rest of the season. Even so, the fanbase isn’t too happy with the news.

It’s been over a year since Ball took the court. Now he has to wait until next season to play.
Unfortunate for a young player. Really hope he can recover and get back on the court soon

Everybody just wants Lonzo Ball to be okay.
Sad situation in Chi-Town

Look for the Bulls to monitor Ball closely throughout the rest of the season. Hopefully, his knee heals and he’s back on the court next year.
