Rapper Bun B of UGK was on hand for a Colorado scrimmage this week, taking a closer look at Deion Sanders’ program in Boulder. He left the field with nothing but praise for the Buffs.

One player, in particular, had the musician in awe as he flexed his versatility on both offense and defense. Travis Hunter has earned the stamp of approval!

Hunter was one of the few two-way players in high-level college football last season, taking considerable snaps on each side of the ball. He made an immediate impact as both a wideout and cornerback in Year 1 with the program.

In a season opener against TCU, Hunter logged more than 150 snaps, snagging an interception to go along with 119 receiving yards. That trend continued up until he was injured on a late hit while playing receiver against Colorado State.

When he returned to the field, the Buffs were a bit more careful, utilizing him in mainly a defensive capacity throughout the remainder of the year.

That said, it looks like we’ll see him back on offense for the 2024 campaign.

Hunter was “unguardable” in his recent scrimmage, snatching up a pair of touchdown passes late in the action.

The first of those catches caught one notable onlooker’s attention.

The UGK member was in Boulder with his Trill Burgers restaurant team, which is based in Houston. While there, he got a chance to tour the football facilities, speak to the team, and take in practice from the sidelines.

The rapper had an awesome reaction to seeing Hunter haul in one of his two scores.

“We ain’t watching a video game, are we?” he asked. “That’s Travis… They got 12 f—– up out here.”

It’s safe to say Bun B approves!

He left impressed with the team as a whole, having nothing but praise for Coach Prime’s bunch.

“Look, there was a lot of people talking about what this team was going to do, and what they were going to become,” he said. “Y’all are going to look real crazy when these boys touch the field. This team looks sharp… I can’t wait to see these Buffs take the field. You’ve been warned!”

Travis Hunter appears to be in regular season form, though the Buffs are doing what they can to protect him in the preseason. Deion Sanders instructed his team “leave Travis alone” during practice in hopes of avoiding any unnecessary injuries.

Colorado will definitely need the versatile star if they want to improve upon last year’s four-win total. Judging by Hunter’s latest performance, he’s in for a big season!
