With Ohio State and Notre Dame facing off in the College Football National Championship, at least one fan of the Crimson Tide is still hurting over the College Football Playoffs selection committee snubbing Alabama. That Alabama fan interrupted C-SPAN’s coverage of President Trump’s inauguration to make themselves heard.

The call into C-SPAN came almost four hours into the network’s coverage. One has to wonder if the C-SPAN screeners were growing complacent by then. And they started off by sharing their discontent with the country but quickly moved on to discussing the University of Alabama getting snubbed by the CFP selection committee.

The video can be seen below. In it, the fan says “while I’m disappointed in the American people… I’m a bit more disappointed in the Selection Committee for not picking Alabama for the College Football Playoffs. And accepting inferior teams like SMU and Indiana. Truly dark times in America.” Here is that clip:

At the time of writing, we are mere hours away from kickoff with the Ohio State Buckeyes facing the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. My 5.5 year old son has picked the Buckeyes to win it all despite not knowing anything about either team. Frankly, it left me flummoxed that boy would pick ‘Buckeyes’ over ‘Fighting Irish’ but he made his decision quickly and didn’t back down when we pressed him on why.

Looking back at the Selection Committee’s 12 teams, it is certainly evident the ACC didn’t show up when it mattered. Clemson and SMU got beaten to a pulp. That said, Boise State with a bye might be the most egregious decision of all. They got shellacked by Penn State… Maybe next year the Selection Committee will get it right?
