Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik did not get into a car accident. His mother confirmed the viral internet report as false.

It is NOT true!

The concerning rumor started on a college football message board. A popular account on social media later shared the post in mocking fashion, which only increased the amount of eyeballs.

Is Cade Klubnik okay?!

Yes. According to his mother, Kim, Cade Klubnik is of full health. He did not get in a wreck.

This whole thing started on Tiger Net.

Tiger Net, similar to sites like 247 Sports and/or On3, features a message board. The Clemson-focused sports website allows anyone and everyone to post on the board so long as they are subscribed.

That leads us to a man claiming to be “Jacoby Moore.”

Moore, who is considered a “freshman” level poster on the message board, shared the following information on late Sunday afternoon. He spelled Cade Klubnik with a K instead of a C.

“My brother is a first responder near the University and, well about 30 minutes ago now, someone Tboned a car at an intersection and my brother just told me that it is Kade Klubnik inside the car that got Tboned and he couldnt move his arm and shoulder well when they got there. He didn’t text me anything else. Luckily I saw it in time, I am 57 years old and dont carry my phone alot. He just told me that bc I am a die hard fan and I am heartbroken and panicking at the moment. Hoping this isnt a big thing but we will see. I asked him to send me pictures of the wreck he said it look pretty bad.”

His post was elevated to the X account @BoardGeniuses, which primarily exists to mock the insanity of college football message boards. Most of its posts are truly ridiculous. For example:

Sometimes — on rare occasion — the message board post that makes @BoardGeniuses actually ends up being right. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile.

The car accident never happened.

This is not one of those instances where the message board was correct. Cade Klubnik did not get in a car accident near the university. Jacoby Moore’s brother did not text him. Or if he did, he was wrong.

Board Geniuses shared the post because it was so outlandish. And maybe, just maybe, Jacoby Moore’s brother is actually a first responder and his wild message board post ends up being right.

It’s not.

“There’s a rumor going around tonight that Clemson QB Cade Klubnik was injured in a car accident,” wrote Chris Hummer of CBS Sports. “That is categorically false, per his mom, Kim.”

Have no fear, Clemson fans. Y’all got got by the message board. Sleep easy.
